They say the view never changes if you’re not the lead dog. That being said – Chicago got another dose of reality at Comerica Park Saturday, and if you were to read the Windy City newspapers again you would think they beat themselves. Why don’t the sports writers there just give credit to the superior team??

Jim Leyland pulled him in the 9th for Joaquin Benoit.
Indeed – we should give most of the credit to Rick Porcello. But this comes in a week when there were at least 4 “gems” produced by the Tigers pitching and that is what put us in first place again. Prince Fielder went 0-4, but Quintin Berry, Miguel Cabrera and the resurging Jhonny Peralta kept the pace. They helped Detroit get atop the AL Central leading the Chicago White Sox by ½ game. That could be squandered if the Tigers don’t complete the sweep Sunday.

could only muster 5 hits off of Rick Porcello.
This is no fun for Robin Ventura – this guy is at least a little more palatable than his predecessor Ozzie Guillen – plus the weather has taken its toll – but here at CUBS’ AC & Colonial Lanes the air conditioners are ON and we are keeping the beer frosty cold in the coolers. Grab a few!
Join us at CUBS’ AC Sunday afternoon and we’ll see if Detroit can complete the sweep and continue to hang onto first place! Jacob Turner will take the mound for a second try against a Chicago squad who has lost 4 in-a-row and 6 of the last 8. Watch the game on the big screens while chowing down on some of our Turkey Reuben Wraps!!
