300 Is Not Enough

A Sweep to 300 and Beyond

Miguel Cabrera launches his 300th career home run on Sunday.

Which is more impressive?  Cracking a record 300 home runs by a Venezuelan or sweeping the terrible Chicago White Sox?

Broom the Sox!

Can you feel it?  We can!!

They say the view never changes if you’re not the lead dog.  That being said – Chicago just plain got beat.  Sweet and simple.  They got beat by our new rookie, Jacob Turner.  Huzzah!

Sunday’s starting pitcher – Jacob Turner – bounces back from a
disastrous premiere to pitch strongly and win his first MLB decision.

The bats are alive – not all of them at the same time, rather, complimenting one another with timely run-scoring extra base hits.  But the pitching is what has sparked this streak –  the Tigers are 13-2 in the last 15 games – now reaching the season high of 8 above .500.  Three Tigers homered Sunday – Cabrera #299 & #300 – Boesch #11 (and two 2-out RBI’s) and Quintin Berry hit his 2nd HR.  Detroit sits atop the AL Central leading the Chicago White Sox by 1½ games, now.

A pleasant addition to the Tigers bullpen – Octavio Dotel.

There is another glowing ember in the bullpen – Octavio Dotel – who is pitching for his 13th club in thirteen years.  We’re HOT!  But here at CUBS’ AC & Colonial Lanes the air conditioners are ON and we are keeping the beer frosty cold in the coolers.  Grab a few!

Join us at CUBS’ AC Tuesday evening and we’ll see if Detroit can continue their winning ways as they travel to Cleveland.  Doug Fister will take the mound against Ubaldo Jimenez who attempts to revive an Indians squad who have lost 7 of their last 10.  Watch the game on the big screens while chowing down on some of our new Buffalo Chicken Sliders!

Until the sun comes up over Woodward Avenue.
