Tigers Finally Take a Series

Tigers Take It – Finally

The “woods section” of the Detroit Tigers were performing.

The Tigers are finally back to winning individual series again.  That is what Jim Leyland has said (like him or not) they needed to do all along.  Wednesday night it looked like Detroit was serious once again.  While watching this one I recalled just how pesky the Twins have always been, as they won the division 6 times over the last decade.  (*Note:  The Tigers joined the AL Central in 1998)

Except for one very scary inning, MaxScherzer was very effective.

Through all that Max Scherzer has been through since losing his Brother just before the All Star Game, he continues to be one of the most consistent finishers – often getting into one scrape or another but coming out clean.  Wednesday he pitched 7 strong innings and gave up only 4 hits while striking out 10.

Prince Fielder broke out of his slump, too.

It’s hard to believe that Miguel Cabrera has been a Tiger for less than 5 years, but he already broken the season home run records of Hank Greenberg and Cecil Fielder.  The man likes it here, apparently.  He has hit 30 home runs already and it is not over!

Delmon Young celebrated his 1 year anniversaryof being traded from the Twins to Detroit by
smacking a 2 run homer in his former park.

The Tigers take the day off Thursday but you can watch with us here at CUBS’ AC where we are keeping the beer frosty
cold in the coolers.
Grab a few!

It's COOL at CUBS' AC!

Join us at CUBS’ AC (in the bar that faces the giant car wash) and we’ll see if the Tigers can keep up their winning ways against the Orioles at home on Friday.  Watch the game on our big screens while chowing down on some Pescado Tacos!!
